Virgil van Dijk follows Mohamed Salah in signing new Liverpool contract

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has put pen to paper on a new contract at Anfield.

Van Dijk has cemente his status as an all-time Liverpool great since completing a move from Southampton in January 2018.
In the summer of 2023, Van Dijk took over the reins at Liverpool’s permanent captain following the departure of former skipper Jordan Henderson.
The Netherlands international has made 313 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool and is one of the club’s most decorate players in recent memory, having lifte eight trophies.
An inspirational figure both on and off the pitch throughout much of the Jurgen Klopp era, Van Dijk was instrumental in the Reds’ Champions League and Premier League triumphs, which came in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
