Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has revealed he is now playing with confidence and has given credit to new boss Arne Slot, while national team coach Ronald Koeman has praised the Reds’ development under Slot, who have
started the new season with three consecutive wins without conceding a goal. Gravenberch, a midfielder with the same national team as the manager, started all three games.
“Of course I feel good, but I am still the same person. I am just being myself comfortably,” the 22-year-old told the media in his home country while in the national team camp.
“Arne Slot is a good coach with a clear plan. ยูฟ่าเบท He gives me confidence.”
Gravenberch returned to the Dutch team at the last Euros, but did not play a single minute for Ronald Koeman’s team. The former Ajax product was asked about his feelings.
“To be honest, it hurts a bit, but after the holiday I forgot about it. I don’t talk to the national team coach about the Euros anymore. Because now we have to focus on the Nations League,”
Koeman was also interviewed by the media. On Gravenberch’s form: “Maybe it’s because he’s had a bit more confidence. Ryan started earlier than a lot of players at international level. “
We always saw big potential in Ryan but there were people, myself included. Who thought he could fix his laziness and his lack of focus.”
Gravenberch, having joined the Reds from Bayern Munich last summer, fell out with Koeman when he refused to join the Under-21s because he wanted to train with his new club. “Ryan
found it too easy when he was young but he now seems to know what it takes to be a midfielder at Liverpool and in the Premier League,” the former Everton manager continued.
“He’s obviously developed now. Ryan has got his chance and he’s taking it with both hands. If a player has confidence and gets playing time then we can push him in the right direction.”
